The Gosling Group (TGG) was formed back in 2000 with the aim of helping companies with their sales and marketing strategies in order to become more successful. Part of this help consisted of measuring both employee motivation and customer satisfaction for the companies.

In order to facilitate these tasks a software algorithm called the Dynamic Questionnaire Engine (DQE) was developed, which in its simplest form measures human satisfaction. Based on this algorithm software packages were developed to tailor the algorithm to the necessary task. The DQE was successfully patented in 2013.
